Born in 1966, Jeffrey Scott Buckley was the result of a short-lived liaison between Tim Buckley and Mary Gulbert. Indeed, at five, the young Buckley had picked up his grandmother's guitar and taught himself to play.In one of the few interviews Jeff Buckley later gave, he recalled that the couple: broke up in the early Seventies. I was really brought up by my mother and my stepfather. They were together for about four years and the house was full of music. In Southern California, he might have felt rootless and restless, but music already seemed to drive him on.My mum would play piano and cello all the time and my stepdad had great musical taste. Aged 13, Jeff even wrote his first song, "about a break-up with a girlfriend.I would listen to anything: the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Judy Garland, Robert Johnson, Thelonious Monk, Bartk, Mahler. It was awful." Having graduated from high school, the teenage Buckley left home, studied at the Los Angeles Musicians' Institute and played in a few rock and reggae bands (including Shinehead).RWJ University Hospital Somerset 110 Rehill Avenue Somerville, NJ 08876 (908) 685-2200 (main number) (888) MD-RWJUH (toll-free physician referral line) Google Maps Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset's main campus includes two parking decks. Please use the Post Avenue Parking Deck to access the Emergency Department and Diabetes Center, the North Lot for Somerset Family Practice, and the Rehill Avenue Parking Deck for all other areas.General Directions: Travel north on Route 206 through Hillsborough.
